For Plenary Session speakers

Kindly note the following.

Word Limit, Time for Presentation, Last Date for full paper, Souvenir

The word limit for keynote speakers is 2500 [not 1500], which is the full paper expected as of now for presentation and circulation during the Seminar in a souvenir. This should reach me at mensanamonographs@yahoo.co.uk by 15 Nov 2009. Time alloted for presentation will be 30 mins with 10 mins for QAs. 

What full paper should contain

Abstract, Key words, Author affiliation, Introduction, Concluding Remarks, Take Home Message, Acknowledgements, Conflict of interest [if any], Declaration [that it is your original unpublished/unpresented work], References [max 25].

Publication in MSM

This paper is expandable to max 3500 words for potential publication in MSM 2011 theme monograph on Mind, Brain and Consciousness, after due process of editorial and peer review. It should be submitted to me at mensanamonographs@yahoo.co.uk by 31 Mar 2010. 

While writing

While writing, do look into the following:

1. Add an Abstract at the beginning [100-150 words]

2. Add Key Words [4-6 key words from the text]

3. Add Author affiliations, Correspondence address, and email id below Key Words

4.. Add Concluding Remarks [100-150 words] at the end

5. Add Take Home message [3-4 lines] after concluding remarks

6. Add Conflict of Interest, if any, after Take Home message

7. Add Declaration that it is your original unpublished work, not submitted for publication elsewhere.

8. Add acknowledgements, if any, after Declaration

9. Add Questions that the Paper Raises  [4-7 questions that readers/researchers can deliberate over in the light of your write-up], after References.

10. Add References in Modified Harvard style [see References below, or article on MSM website for details]

11. Add 100-150 word 'About the author' with a recent high-resolution jpg photo to go along with your write-up, after References

References

Reference style is Harvard.

All References should be bunched together in alphabetical order at the end of the submission. For two or more references from the same author/authors in the same year, (a) and (b) maybe used after the year of publication. For example:

1. For References of Same Author in One Year:

Woodruff T., (2004a), Letters: The medical profession and the pharmaceutical industry: when will we open our eyes? eMJA, 181:8, p458-459.

Authors must check authenticity of references and other facts quoted before submission. They should follow the following pattern:

7. Personal communications

Personal communication may not ordinarily be quoted as a reference. If at all done, it should be with the written permission of the communicator.

Copyright of material published rests with the organizers. After submission for publication in March 2010, it will rest with the Mens Sana Monographs. However, authors are permitted to disseminate their published work freely by post or electronic means, and to put it up on their personal/institutional web sites for the information and knowledge of their viewers and fellow researchers, with due acknowledgement of the original source of publication (MSM). Authors should contact and obtain permission from MSM if they intend publication of their work in any other form later. Such requests are ordinarily granted on due acknowledgement of publication in MSM.
